The Bear's Den
In 1981, almost twenty five years ago. John Bear purchased 80 acres of property just outside the city limits of Grove, OK. He made it into a private resort for camping, fishing, and family fun and to help promote his new venture. He brought a cub bear named "Cajun" to the park and made him the resort mascot. Cajun enjoyed the members and especially the kids that stayed on the park with the members walking him, feeding him apples and enjoying the fun just as much as he did. Eventually he grew up and had to be moved to the drive-thru-safari in Gentry, AR. Everyone hated to see Cajun go but kids of all ages can soon visit Cajuns Corner and also enjoy their new Website to find all about what`s new as The Riley Family continue expansions and improvement to make Bears Den Resort the number one destination at Grand Lake O' the Cherokees.

Grand Lake O' The Cherokees was created in 1940 with GRDA's completion of Pensacola Dam. It is one of the premiere lakes in the Midwest and is the Crown Jewel of the chain of lakes in the northeastern Oklahoma region.
Grand Lake is 66 miles long providing 46,500 surface acres of water that are ideal for boating, skiing, fishing, swimming and sailing. In fact, the lake, which lies in a southwest to northeast direction, is popular with sailboat enthusiasts wishing to take advantage of the prevailing wind. Normal surface elevation is 742 feet above sea level.
With 1,300 miles of shoreline meandering through the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, everything from bustling lakeside communities to quiet secluded coves and lakeside resorts can be found along its shore.
